To My RMS Care Partner, with Love LEMTRADA patient blogger: Kimberly By Kimberly, Texas Gal, Born and Raised • November 28, 2017

LEMTRADA Patient, Kimberly, and her husband, who is also her relapsing MS Care Partner

When it comes to communicating with my Care Partner, I’ll admit I’m not always the best, so it’s no surprise that sometimes I have trouble finding the right words to say when I’m simply trying to say “thank you.” I’m going to treat this post a little differently than usual. I’m going to use it as a thank you to my husband, Jason, who’s played one of the most important roles in my journey with RMS.

For starters, thank you for being “you.” I am beyond lucky to have you, and these are the things I want to say to you, to make sure you understand my love and appreciation for you. And I encourage all you readers to share what your RMS Care Partner means to you in the comment section below!

You are the love of my life, and I am yours

You are my rock, my love, my Care Partner, my best friend. You have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of RMS and still, you never hesitated to be there for me. I really appreciate your encouragement and positivity.

I’m not the best at communicating, but we get through it

I often take for granted that you should just KNOW what I mean. I’m learning not to assume you can read my mind, and I want to thank you for patiently letting me talk it out with you.

I go full throttle in life—and I take you with me

RMS is the predictable, unpredictable disease. How I feel can change hourly—but it leads to some pretty awesome adventures! Thank you for hanging on and supporting my shenanigans.

You always take the time to listen to my stories

Your day is filled with meetings and projects. My day is filled with managing the kids, the house, and all the activities that come with it. Thank you for not minimizing my concerns and patiently listening to my “suburban mafia” stories. The struggle is real—and you get it!

Thank you for always catching me when I fall

No matter what happens in life—no matter what direction I want to take—I can do so because I know at the end of the day you have my back. Now, as we know, having my back usually comes with a long discussion, but the fact that you always support me is honestly all that matters.

Thank you for all these things you do and most of all…

Thank you for being you!
