Horseback riding while living with relapsing multiple sclerosis

I know sometimes relapsing MS can get you down, but here are some simple things I do to be my best self, despite the challenges that come with this condition.

Put a smile on

Laughter is contagious and a warm smile can brighten a challenging day. Try to find one positive thing each day that made you smile. It can be big or small. It doesn’t matter, as long as it made you smile!

Find your passion

Are you an artist? Do you love to cook? Is volunteering something that brings you great joy? I love to horseback ride, and I encourage you to find your passion. It’s a great way to keep the mind active and positive.

Grow your support circle

Everyone can benefit from a little support, so try to surround yourself with a diverse group of family and friends. A group that can not only celebrate each other’s successes, but build each other up when life gets tough.

Be your own advocate

Staying in constant communication with everyone on your care team is key to living well with relapsing MS. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or talk about what’s important to you. After all, sharing your goals is the first step to achieving them!
